American Idol, the groundbreaking reality competition, is now in it's farewell season. For 15 years, this show had a profound influence on the landscape of American pop. Although an Asian American or Pacific Islander has never won the competition (we came close!), it is still important to appreciate the series for showcasing the talent of many artists within the AAPI community to millions of homes across America.
