We interview Will Jay, an extraordinary singer & songwriter from Los Angeles! As a solo artist, his songs have been streamed over 20 million times, offering a unique perspective on young adulthood while challenging society’s expectations of living in the digital age. Will Jay has also sung back up for artists such as Linkin Park and Josh Groban, while writing for artists like Grace Vanderwaal, NCT-127, Asher Angel, etc.! We learn about his musical journey having started professionally as a young teenager in a boy band and the transition to a solo career. We explore the recent creative risks he’s taken very recently and the unexpected responses he’s received in writing the hyperpersonal & powerful songs “By Now” (a song about the many sacrifices and struggles in pursuing a dream ) and “I Can Only Write My Name” (a song to remind us that it’s never too late to learn and be proud of your culture)!
